Software analyses are dividing into five parts:
Objectives of analysis model
  • To describe what the customer require.
  • To establish a basis for the creation of a software design.
  • To define a set of requirements that can be validated once the software is built

    What is a model?
    Ans:a model is a simplification of reality

    Why do we model?
    -we build models so that we can better understand the system we are developing.
    -we build models of complex systems because we cannot comprehend such a system in its entirety.
    -four aims to achieve:-
    1. help us to visualize a system.
    2. permit us to specify the structure/behavior of a system.
    3. give us a template that guides us in constructing systems.
    4.document the decisions we have made.

What is Non-functional requirements

These define system properties and constraints e.g. reliability, response time and storage requirements. Constraints are I/O device capability, system representations, etc. i.e. Deactivate or delete record after 24 hrs Process requirements may also be specified mandating a particular programming language or development method. Non-functional requirements may be more critical than functional requirements. If these are not met, the system may be useless. •Confidentiality –Engineers should normally respect the confidentiality of their employers or clients irrespective of whether or not a formal confidentiality agreement has been signed. •Competence –Engineers should not misrepresent their level of competence. They should not knowingly accept work which is out with their competence. •Intellectual property rights –Engineers should be aware of local laws governing the use of intellectual property such as patents, copyright, etc. They should be careful to ensure that the intellectual property of employers and clients is protected. •Computer misuse –Software engineers should not use their technical skills to misuse other people’s computers.
